Membership Conditions

Membership of P3G is accessible to all individuals and not-for-profit organizations committed to complying with the objectives of P3G and to providing P3G with the benefit of their knowledge, as well as to respecting the confidentiality of all contributors and all applicable legal and ethical obligations of P3G.

P³G is comprised of three (3) categories of members, namely charter members, associate members and individual members.

  • Charter Members: An international, national or regional not-for-profit organization that is conducting, or will be conducting a large population genomics project such as a biobank or a large-scale cohort study (N>10 000 samples).
  • Associate Members: A not-for-profit organization, such as a research institution, charitable organization or funding agency whose activities are devoted to scientific, ethical, legal or societal research related to population genomics and genetics.
  • Individual Members: An individual from academic, public or private organizations committed to complying with the objectives of P3G and to providing the P3G with the benefit of its knowledge.

Membership is based upon application and acceptance by the Board of Directors of P3G and payment of a one-time membership fee of $10,000 CDN for charter members and $2,500 for associate members. There are no fees for individuals members.

Becoming a member offers a number of benefits, including invitations to participate in all P3G activities and members’ meetings, as well as access to networking and informal scientific exchange with leading researchers in the field of population genomics. All members (or their representatives in the case of Charter and Associate members) are eligible for office. Charter and Associate members are entitled to vote on all matters submitted to a vote. Only Charter members can elect the Directors of P3G.
